Business-to-Business Call Restrictions


The Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS) is the central opt out register whereby corporate subscribers (see definition below) can register their wish not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls to either all their organisation's telephone numbers, or to certain numbers. It is a legal requirement that companies do not make such calls to numbers registered on the CTPS.

Before embarking on a business-to-business telesales/ prospect profiling campaign we strongly advise that all data is checked against the register for compliance or check that this is covered in your contract with you telemarketing company.

Interestingly the current legislation means that a company register from 1 number i.e. the main office/ branch number to only selected numbers i.e. DDI’s of Directors and under current legislation companies must reapply every 12 months.

Please also note that if you are using our Telesales services, all data is checked automatically before any project starts and at regular intervals for ongoing projects.

Please note it takes 28 days for companies registration to become fully effective so if you find a company that is not happy with your call remember to establish when they registered.
